Canadian Nationals
Barrie, Ontario
250cc Pro
Round five of the Canadian Nationals
was at Barrie, Ontario. Last year finished
second here so I was hoping to improve on that. The track in Barrie is a little sandy with some huge rocks, it
gets really rough too.
The first moto I got off a top 5
start. It took about half the race to
get into second. By this time JSR was
gone. I rode solid and felt confident
going into the second moto.
The second moto I got off to another
top 5 start. JSR had the holeshot so I
knew it would be a dogfight to pass him.
I was pushing it from the start trying to make some quick passes. The track personnel over watered a bit, so I
was ducking from the splashing water and roost. My goggle strap got blown down off the back of my helmet onto my
neck on the first lap. So the passes I
made got taken back when I had to slow up to fix my goggles. I think that was a first for me having that
happen. I got back up to speed and repassed
the guys again and eventually finishing in second. It was another solid day going 2, 2, on the day but still not the
win that I have been looking for.
