It's has been a long time since I have sent any updates
and I just wanted to let everyone know what I'm up to. Well as many of you
know the Canadian series wrapped up in August. I had some great races and
some bad ones, but overall the most important thing is finishing the season out
healthy. It was a crazy season up in Canada this year; between my
wife giving birth on June 20th and all the rain, it was a tough season. I
would race to the airport after the final moto just to make it home on Sunday
night just in case it was time. You never know especially when we had to make
my airline tickets months in advance. So for a couple of those races I
definitely had other things on my mind. Everything was great though, my
wife and I had a beautiful baby boy that we named Max and he is doing
awesome. But that was tough leaving every weekend knowing that she could
go into labor. It made for some real excitement.
I guess the last couple of years I been lucky up in Canada
because there has been only a couple mud races. This year definitely made
up for it. I think seven out of nine races where rain or some muddy
conditions were involved. It was crazy.
I won a race in Juliette just outside of Toronto; it was a
cool with a lot of jumps and some hills. That was definitely the
highlight of the season. It felt good to be back on top once again.
It was one of the only races where there was dry dusty conditions, which suited
my style.
So to wrap up this update I have some big news, which maybe
some have already heard about. I announced my retirement after my
last race in Canada. It was definitely a sad moment, but it was just the
right time. I've had a long career and have had a lot of success, and was
very lucky to do what I've loved to do for so long. I have ridden bikes
since the age of four and raced professionally for fourteen years. I have
won races in seven different countries, including two Supercross championships,
a World Supercross championship and the U.S. Open of Supercross. It has
been a great ride. I have had some awesome teammates and have ridden on
some great teams. I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored
or helped me out over the years. Without that I would of never been able
to accomplish what I have.
Thanks everybody.
